Welcome to my site. It's been up and running for quite a while now, but not much progress has been made. What progress, I hear you ask? The plan is build a home cockpit in my home, based on an Airbus A320/330 cockpit. This is a project I've had in mind for a few months now. I've done a lot of research on it. I intend to share as much of that, and my thought process on the project here with you.
There are a lot of sites out there about this sort of thing. Some of them show you nothing more than a finished cockpit, usually in the dark, showing off the pretty lights. I have found it so frustrating that the people who have achieved such awesome results don't share their methods with us! So I want this site to develop along with the cockpit, showing you what I am doing and how I am doing it.
My name is Nigel Doyle. I am a mid thirties (when did that happen?) Irish guy living in England these days. I used to live in Dublin before moving to the UK in 2005 for work purposes. And I quite like it here! The work is good and the...well, there must be something else good about it.
Things that interest me include diving, flying, reading, playing squash, riding my motorbike...lots of other rubbish. I spend a high percentage of my life at work, and most of the rest collapsed in front of the telly or the computer. Less than 1% is spent cleaning the house.
Over the years my hobbies and interests have evolved and altered as my circumstances change. Since my knees preclude marathon running anymore, I am perhaps lucky to have discovered a nice warm indoors hobby.
